Hungry. Honest. Human.

Easy MEALS. Big FEELS. Hard TRUTHS.

A two-part blog for modern motherhood and everyday nourishment.
One path leads through the raw, reflective terrain of becoming a mother. The other takes you into the kitchen with protein-packed, nutrient-dense meals made with fewer ingredients, in less time, with all the intention.

Two paths. One nest.
For the women trying to remember how to be a human again!

The Blogs

Who It's For

✔ For the ones who rubbed toothpaste on their face instead of moisturizer.

✔ For the chicks who left the fridge open for an hour because they got sidetracked by their toddler pooping on the couch.

✔ For the women who sat in their room staring at a wall in silence for 11 minutes and called it self-care.

✔ For the moms who “cleaned” the house by shoving everything into a laundry basket and hiding it in the closet.

✔ For the moms who sucked snot out of their kid’s nose with their mouth, then spit it on the ground because there were no wipes at the playground and they weren’t about to get slime on their clothes,…then other people looked at them like they were crazy, and they just shrugged and said, “Fuck it, am I right?”

Client Love Notes

  • Dru is the most nourishing, wise, supportive resource a mama could ask for.

A few years ago Dru made me a birthday dinner just for us 2. This was the first time I had really tasted Dru's cooking. The entire meal hit every flavor imaginable without being drenched in sugar or oil. She made a balsamic glazed berry salad, walnut and carmelized onion sweet potato mash, a double shot of cucumber avocado apple lime and chili gazpacho, ponzu grilled avocado, and yuzu chili orange cilantro cauliflower rice! And for dessert she made a rosemary and raspberry jam with zucchini bread - everything from her garden except the avocados! I was so impressed and ate every bite.

Her prenatal support spanned all the layers - from emotional, to energetic, to physical, to practical. She has a magic blend of being incredibly pragmatic with accessible tools, and at the same time deeply poetic, spiritual, and feeling. Could not ask for a better support to accompany me into the mystery of childbirth.

  • Dru and I lived together for about 3.5 years and she used to cook for me all the time while I was studying for law school. During that time I had such little time to make sure I was getting the right food in me. Dru would show up in my room with a smoothie, salad, sandwich, pasta, balsamic rosemary chicken and more. Even though she did not eat some of the stuff I ate, she would still make it for me knowing that I needed it. Now I watch Dru as she uploads her creations to instagram and I want to try them all! She is one creative and nurturing lady!

When Dru had her garden she used to come over all the time with new recipes she made. Zucchini bread, pumpkin dark chocolate muffins, overnight berry oats, stir fries and so much more. I can’t wait until the holiday season when she is back in town and I get to enjoy her holiday creations again!!

I stayed with Dru and her husband for a few weeks when they first moved to Colorado. Dru would make pasta, veggie rich frittatas, herb roasted vegetables, croissants stuffed with savory sweet and herbal flavors. I was always excited to walk into the living room and smell her cooking.

  • My husband surprised me with her postnatal care package, and it was everything a new mom could dream of! Dru called me herself, and after our chat, she crafted a care plan just for me. I told her I wanted to focus on healing my body and improving my digestive health and milk production through diet. Not only did she create a tailored meal plan with spot-on ingredient ideas, but she showed up with a home-cooked 4 course meal that left me absolutely speechless!

Through the unknown terrain of entering motherhood, Dru holds your hand at every crossing and guides you with intellect, humor, compassion, and genuine kindness.

Throughout my pregnancy journey, Dru has been an unwavering source of support. From the very beginning, she guided me with grace and reassurance, answering all my questions and easing my worries until the birth of my baby.
